In my personal experience it has been a way to express emotions that I hadn't known how to address or process.
Stephen
I really noticed the decline in my mood over the winter break - a month without leaving the house, seeing other people, doing some creative together - these sessions impact us for more than the couple of hours a week they run for.

Without music there is nothing.
David
I have seen first hand the difference music has to people's lives. I work for a charity which supports individuals with brain injury, some of them are unable to speak but can sing, music is such a special thing to them.
Emma
Any group getting together in joy and camaraderie, especially with music involved, is uplifting creating a feel good factor.
Anne
Music in general allows us to be lost in another world, to be creative, to learn new things about ourselves... My daughter loves her guitar lessons, her confidence has grown and she feels like she is accomplishing things, harbouring independence, resilience and creativeness.
Geraint
The boost in wellbeing was fantastic... more importantly it was the sense of belonging and achievement it gave you.

Amy is such a good tutor and she's brilliant with people.

Choirs and music has been a part of the community for decades. It brought a sense of togetherness and friendship... coming together as a community to sing, especially now, is more important than ever.
Sue
I believe singing and music is an integral part of any community... It's a bridge between older and younger generations.
Stephen
Singing gets people out of the house and interacting together. There's a real sense of community and belonging and it doesn't just end after a session has finished. When you pass these people out in the community you say hello because you now know each other. Some become life long friends. The groups can feel like a second family and for some a life line.
Barbara
Such a great thing to provide, Especially to those who don't or didn't achieve what they could in the school setting.
Justin
Amy came to the Day Centre where I work, the individuals who attend there loved seeing her and always asked when she was going to come again.
Hywel
This type of activity can be a lifeline for some people - new parents, people who are grieving and have suffered loss, people wanting to make new friends after moving areas, someone who just wants to find themselves again.
Kimberly
We need so many more sessions! And ones for kids under 11, and ones for teenagers 11-17, in addition to sessions for adults.
B
There is also an aspect of diversity in the groups I've attended, with a range of different people from varied age groups, social, economic, mental or physical disability backgrounds. I've met so many people I would never have had the opportunity to before, and feel like I'm part of a community.
Pete
It gives people a purpose to get out and mix with the community helping with their health and wellbeing.
